Specialty Tracks
Specialty Tracks are advanced courses designed for Community Health Workers (CHWs), crafted with input from CHWs to ensure the content is relevant and beneficial for their professional development. These courses, consisting of at least 16 hours, focus on advancing knowledge, experience, and expertise in a particular skill, topic, or population group (such as group facilitation skills, perinatal health, or serving Hispanic populations). Multiple shorter courses can be combined to create a comprehensive Specialty Track (for example, four 4-hour or two 8-hour courses).
Specialty Tracks play a crucial role in the ongoing professional growth of CHWs, as they offer opportunities to delve deeper into specific areas of interest or expertise. By participating in these advanced courses, CHWs can further their understanding and knowledge of specialized subjects, allowing them to serve better the diverse communities they work with.
The South Carolina Community Health Worker Credentialing Council ensures that all Specialty Track courses meet the highest standards of quality and relevance, making them a valuable asset for CHWs seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge base.
