Don't be duped!  Learn how to protect yourself and others from being financially exploited. Sadly, seniors can be financially exploited or taken advantage of by people they don't know AND people they know and trust.
 
The event will be from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM on June 28, 2024 at the Cook School of Business, Columbia International University 7435 Monticello Road, Columbia. (The Cook School of Business is the first building on the right, after you enter the campus.) The event will feature presentations from a number of national and state experts who are working to safeguard seniors and other vulnerable populations from being scammed and financially exploited. (Flyer attached) Attendees will hear from experts from the following agencies:
  • FBI
  • Security and Exchange Commission
  • South Carolina Victims Assistance Network
  • South Carolina Legal Services 
  • South Carolina Attorney General's Office
  • South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs
You can attend this event in-person or virtually. In-person attendees will be provided lunch and the opportunity to pick up informational brochures and other promotional items from agencies and non-profit organizations whose mission is to better the lives of seniors and other people in need. There is no cost to attend this event.
