
Professional Bio
A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Wilma also attended Wofford College. She joined the Highland Neighborhood Association (HNA) in 2008 and has served over 300 families as the Highland Community Outreach Advocate. She currently serves as Executive Secretary and Communications Director for HNA and is active on the Highland Transformation Committee and the Highland Community Development Corporation as Interim Chair.
Wilma is a dedicated member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and holds leadership roles in multiple community initiatives. She’s a Certified Community Health Worker II—the first to reach that designation in South Carolina—and serves on the SCCHWA state board and its CHAI Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the Southeastern Community Health Worker’s Association.
In honor of her son, she launched the Spartanburg Chapter of MOMs Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. Wilma is active in numerous committees including Live Healthy Spartanburg, Wholespire/Spartanburg Food Systems Coalition, Way to Wellville, and Spartanburg Housing’s Family Self-Sufficiency Steering Committee.
A graduate of several leadership programs, Wilma continues to serve her community with passion and purpose. She lives by Jeremiah 29:11—“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD...to give you an expected end.”
